I’m 20 years old and I have posted questions regarding my education before, but this one is a bit different…I have got to get my life together, no I am not doing anything negative like going out 24/ smoking/drinking, no… I haven’t been in college for a year now, I left my private one because I had chosen nursing as my major but it really doesn’t appeal to me…
I know nursing is great, and the pay is great, but I do not know if I can keep up with a hectic job that I do not enjoy at all for the rest of my life. I don’t have any other inclinations toward any other career either, but I also don’t want to live off minimum wage when I could’ve gone to college and done a bit better.
I prefer a monotonous career. SOunds bad to many people I know, and what I mean by monotonous is that I prefer a job in which I walk in on a daily basis and already kind of know what I’ll have to do. Nursing doesn’t fit into that since the stress, the situations, and the demand is always different.
I was looking at my community college’s list of majors (well the one I plan to apply to) and I saw Radiology technician as one of them, I figured it fits the category of a job in which I will already know my daily tasks…But then a lot of people have said that it is really hard, too much to study, etc.
Then again I have been through a really big drop in my self-confidence, maybe I am just scared I won’t be good enough to keep up with it. But I want more information or opinions on this choice…
And also ANY OTHER career choices I can look into will really help me as well.
